Reducing Unnecessary Cloud Resource Allocation Through Workload-Aware Scaling Decisions
Kavin, Banu Priya, Prabha Pages 1–12
Today, Cloud Computing has become the foundation of today s digital world. It allows companies to deploy applications, store huge amounts of data and offer services based on a flexible, on-demand computing model. Unfortunately, today there is still a problem in effectively managing the allocation of Cloud Computing resources. Most companies use traditional ways of scaling their Cloud Computing resources. Some examples of these traditional ways are setting maximum limits for the use of Cloud Computing resources, reviewing historical use of Cloud Computing resources and adjusting to changes in the amount of work being done by the company. There are several problems that could arise from using traditional ways of managing Cloud Computing resources. For instance, you could over-allocate Cloud Computing resources.
